Do You Really Need to Clean Before Better Life Maids Comes To Your Door?
You’ve probably heard the one about the woman who hires a housecleaner – and then spends the entire night before the housecleaner comes so the person doesn’t see how dirty her house is.
It’s a funny joke, but there is some truth to it. You would be surprised at how many homes we visit that really aren’t ready for us to clean. So we thought it might be helpful to post some things to do before we show up at your door for your green house cleaning. You’ll be happy to know that cleaning before we come to clean isn’t on the list!
- Clear the clutter – If you like to leave everything out where you can see it, you will make our jobs more difficult because we will have to clean around it. We might not be able to get to the surface all the things are sitting on, especially if we’re talking piles of papers or other stackable things.
- Empty the sink – It may sound obvious, but many people forget that we clean sinks. If there are dirty dishes there, we’ll have to move the dishes, clean the sink and then replace the dishes. We like to leave places looking clean, so if we have to put dirty dishes back into the sink, it just doesn’t look clean!
- Pick up dirty clothes – This also sounds obvious, but if you’re used to tossing your dirty clothes on the floor, you might not think anything about picking up before we show up. However, like clutter on tables or counters, we can’t completely clean the floor if dirty clothes cover it.
- Pick up toys – OK, this is like the clothes issue. While we can work around toys, it’s so much easier if you pick them up.
- Put away anything you don’t want us to see – This can include mail, bills, receipts and other items that you would prefer to keep private. We’re not looking for private items, but if we’re cleaning and they’re out, we’ll see them. This protects you and us.
- Do tell us if we’re doing a good job or where we can improve – This is a little off-topic, but we like to know if we’re doing things to your satisfaction. It feels good to hear that we are, and if not, we’ll do what we can to make you happy. Feedback is always good!
By tidying up before we come over, you ensure that your home gets the best and deepest cleaning it possibly can. We certainly can and will clean these things for you, but they will add additional time and cost to your final bill.
