This is one of the most meaningful things we’ve ever done.
I wanted to take a moment to share what it represents, and how something small can carry impact — within our families, our communities, and the way we show up for one another.
When I founded Better Life 18 years ago, my vision was simple:
To build something that truly improves people’s lives.
Not just through the service itself, but through the way we show up, the way we care, and the impact we create in our community.
Today, that vision continues to grow with the launch of our nonprofit, Sight Stones. Created to help find and fund cures for retinal eye diseases that affect our family and millions of others.
Where The Story Really Began
About ten years ago, my son was five years old when we received news that changed everything.
He was diagnosed with a rare, progressive retinal disease. It’s the same condition that caused my grandfather to lose his sight.
And as a parent… there’s nothing that prepares you for hearing something like that.
You just want to fix it. You want to take it away.
And when you realize you can’t…
You start asking a different question.
What can I do?
The Beginning of Sight Stones
One day, I was at my parents’ house talking with my dad, who is an artist. I shared an idea that had been sitting on my heart:
What if we created something simple…
something you could hold…
something that could help create change?
That idea became Sight Stones.
Today, it’s a nonprofit where 100% of proceeds go toward funding research, raising awareness, and supporting efforts to cure retinal diseases.
A Message That Became Bigger Than Us
What started as something for my son became something much more universal. Because over time, I realized something:
Sometimes we can see what people are going through. And sometimes we can’t.
But everyone is carrying something.
Why This Matters at Better Life
At Better Life Home Cleaning, we see it every day. People are doing everything they can to hold everything together.
That’s always been the work. Not just cleaning homes. But supporting the people inside them.
Creating space. Reducing pressure. Helping life feel more manageable.
Sight Stones is an extension of that.
What a Sight Stone Is
A Sight Stone is simple. Each one carries a message: Never lose sight.
A reminder that even in the middle of everything… You still have the ability to choose what you focus on.

Over the coming weeks, our team will be placing Sight Stones in the homes we care for.
You may find one:

- Somewhere you’ll notice it
There’s nothing you need to do. It’s simply there for you.
A small moment of pause in the middle of your day.

At Better Life, we see it every day. People are doing everything they can to:
